Zierikzee (28 km)
Zierikzee was already a rich trading city in the early Middle Ages (www//nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zierikzee ). This prosperity gave the city a beautiful harbour, town hall, church, city gates and walls. Today Zierikzee is a city in Zeeland that attracts many day trippers with an interest in the glorious past and the 500 historical monuments of the city. When visiting Zierikzee, you should definitely visit the Sint-Lievensmonstertoren ( www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sint-Lievensmonstertoren ). Climb the so-called “Thick tower of Zierikzee” and enjoy the view. Other highlights include the Maritime Museum (https://www.stadhuismuseum.nl/ ), the 16th century town hall (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stadhuis_van_Zierikzee ) and the Nobel Gate (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobelpoort ). Relax with a drink while looking out over the old harbor and the historic ships. The route to Zierikzee can be done both via the Zeelandbrug (the longest bridge in the Netherlands) and via the storm surge barrier (slightly longer but faster). Veere (11 km)

Where the richly laden ships from Scotland once lay, now the yachts lie in the harbours. Another showpiece of the city is the old harbor and the Campveerse Toren (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campveerse_Toren). Middelburg (16 km)
Middelburg (https://www.zeeland.com/nl-nl/visit/eilanden/walcheren/dorpen-en-steden/middelburg) is the capital of Zeeland. It is a monumental city with many historic buildings such as the Abbey (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdij_van_Middelburg), the town hall (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stadhuis_van_Middelburg) containing an exhibition of visual arts (https://vleeshal.nl/nl/) and the highest tower called the "Lange Jan" (Long John) (https://langejanmiddelburg.nl/) . The city has a rich history that you can still see in the current street-views. The many events, shops and restaurants make it a lively city. It is a good place for shopping or relaxing on a terrace. Domburg (17 km)
Domburg (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domburg ) is the third oldest seaside resort in the Netherlands and is known for the iconic Badpaviljoen that stands on the dunes and overlooks the wide beach with characteristic pile heads. The village is also known as a place where artists such as Jan Toorop and Piet Mondriaan went to in the early 20th century to seek inspiration from the "Zeeland Light".
